Civil Engineering Projects
This solution was devised as part of a value engineering exercise with the Contractor. The structure was designed as a top-down solution as sequenced in the photographs. This allowed the efficient use of the retaining walls, and the elimination of any temporary works. See more.
Responsible for all permanent works design. This project involved the adaption of an existing multi-bay large area warehouse, into a new data centre. This required the design and construction of a full mezzanine level structure over the entire area (equivalent in area to 6 football pitches) The specification for the structure also required the design of parts of the building for anti-terrorist measures. Acting as designers of both the permanent works and temporary works. The Contractor was charged with the challenge of reducing the height of the tower due to severe ongoing corrosion. We designed all replacement permanent works to the tower including the Helideck… See more.
Transmission Tower Foundations
Acting as designers for a D+B Contract we designed piled foundations for the current power transmission upgrade project. Working closely with the contractor Terrawise the designs had to accommodate both high compression and tension in difficult ground conditions. An innovative solution comprised driven steel tubular piles with micropiles, finished with reinforced concrete pilecaps. See more.
